Kailie Sullivan, MSW, LCSW, OSW-C
Kailie Sullivan is a seasoned therapist and psychosocial oncology professional with over 15 years of experience providing compassionate, trauma-informed care to individuals and families affected by cancer and serious illnesses. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from New York University and is a board-certified Oncology Social Worker. Throughout her career, Kailie has worked at some of the nation’s top oncology care institutions, including Massachusetts General Hospital, New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center and the Dempsey Centers for Quality Cancer Care.
Kailie brings a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach to therapy. She focuses on building psychological flexibility and resilience, using therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Narrative Therapy. Additionally, she incorporates mindfulness practices and expressive arts into her work, with specialized training in play-based modalities for young clients.
Kailie is also trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) and Memory and Attention Adaptation Training (MAAT), which supports those experiencing cancer-related cognitive impairment, commonly known as “chemo brain.”
An active member of the Association of Oncology Social Work (AOSW) since 2014, Kailie has served as a state representative and co-led the Youth, Children & Families Special Interest Group. She is also a co-leader in the Psychosocial Oncology Networking Group (PONG), advancing professional development for psychosocial oncology professionals in Maine.
